The Iranian Federated Women’s Club/Payvand in partnership with the City of San Jose District 10, Councilmember Johnny Khamis, has prepared a very special and intimate event for Thursday, March 29, 2018, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the San Jose City Hall Rotunda, which is located at 200 E. Santa Clara Street in San Jose.
This event will feature exquisite Persian cuisine specially prepared by Members, Haftseen Table Setting by members, Artistic Flowers setting at the Art gallery by members , Centerpieces by Rose Express Florist and Guests will be treated to view a special collection of Persian art gallery, as well live music and performances by local artists and groups. All of this will be to welcome and celebrate a bountiful and prosperous Persian New Year. A limited number of tickets will be available via our event page online very soon, “Taste of Nowruz 2018.” Your support and attendance will help IFWC/Payvand continue forth with its commitment to our local communities by practicing leadership, promoting the Persian arts and culture through education, scholarships, and cultural experiences.
The Persian New Year, commonly referred to as “Nowruz,” is a spring festival of Persian origin, which has been celebrated for more than 3,000 years. It marks the first day of spring. The festival of Nowruz is celebrated by many groups of people in the Middle East, and Central and South Asia, but particularly by Persians or various Iranian peoples.
